About the role

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse in Ward 4 at Life Bay View Private Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The role focuses on delivering quality patient care and supervising nursing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure professional, ethical practice in the unit.
• Provide and supervise nursing care in line with legislation and ethical codes.
• Accept accountability for professional actions.
• Deliver competent, clinical nursing care.
• Initiate and manage comprehensive nursing care plans.
• Coordinate and supervise nursing activities of the healthcare team.
• Enhance patient satisfaction through quality improvement initiatives.
• Build professional relationships with the multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in managing patient and team member complaints.
• Maintain an emotionally and physically safe patient environment.
• Contribute to business efficiency through cost‑effective care and resource use.
• Coach, mentor, and support staff development.
• Assist in performance management and staff recognition.

Required profile

• General Nursing Degree or Diploma.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Relevant experience and technical skill to meet role outputs.
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry (advantage).
• Computer proficiency (advantage).
