Registered Nurse – Trauma Unit

About the role

The Trauma Unit at Life Hilton Private Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the emergency team. Reporting to the Emergency Unit Manager, the role focuses on delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients undergoing surgical trauma procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in performing trauma surgeries and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide holistic clinical care in line with hospital policies and international safety standards.
• Manage clinical resources, including pharmaceuticals and equipment, to support cost‑effective care.
• Maintain accurate stock records and adhere to unit‑specific protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to promote a positive, performance‑driven environment.
• Uphold infection‑prevention measures and contribute to a safe workplace.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
• At least one year of post‑qualification experience in an Emergency Unit.
• Demonstrated trauma care experience; midwifery qualification is an advantage.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with SANC Scope of Practice and relevant healthcare legislation.
