Registered Nurse – Theatre

About the role

Our client, a leading private healthcare provider, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to work part‑time in the operating theatre of a private hospital in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality peri‑operative care within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive peri‑operative nursing care in line with the Scope of Practice.
• Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain accurate records of all nursing interventions.
• Manage surgical equipment, instruments, and theatre stock, ensuring proper charging.
• Support a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.

Required profile

• Valid South African Nursing Council (SANC) licence.
• Minimum 1 year post‑qualification experience in an operating theatre.
• Additional qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing or a Diploma in Critical Care Nursing is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of nursing legislation, the Scientific Nursing Process, and relevant theatre and CSSD policies.
