About the role
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse specialised in theatre nursing to join our team in Cape Town. The role involves delivering safe, cost-effective patient care in the operating theatre, adhering to hospital standards and policies.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with doctors and multidisciplinary team regarding patient needs.
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients before, during and after surgery.
- Ensure accurate handover of reports at the start and end of each shift.
- Maintain and audit patient health records for compliance.
- Manage theatre stock, ensuring proper charging and crediting.
- Promote patient well‑being, safety and public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.
Required profile
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
- Relevant NQF Level 7 qualification and theatre training.
- Experience in a specialised nursing area, preferably theatre.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
