Registered Nurse – SICU

About the role

Life Cosmos Hospital is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join its Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Reporting to the Unit Manager, the nurse will work closely with doctors and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff and stock costs by evaluating labour hours and handling debit/credit entries.
• Minimise stock waste and ensure equipment maintenance.
• Provide quality patient care, including orientation of new staff and daily care rounds.
• Communicate accurate information to patients and families throughout hospitalization.
• Assist physicians with daily cases and procedures.
• Implement risk‑management and infection‑control measures, monitoring SHEQ compliance.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and hygiene to meet infection‑control and safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards for infection control.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and respond to doctors’ preferences and stakeholder needs.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in nursing.
• ICU qualification and current registration with the appropriate professional body.
• Understanding of the private healthcare sector is an advantage.
• Basic computer proficiency.
