Registered Nurse (Scrub) – Monte Vista Clinic

About the role

The Registered Nurse (Scrub) at Medicross Monte Vista Clinic provides person‑centred, holistic nursing care within a surgical environment. Working as part of Netcare Group, the nurse collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement individualized nursing care for patients, families and the community.
• Serve as a clinical resource, supporting staff in patient assessment, care planning and documentation.
• Facilitate communication between families, health professionals and nursing management to resolve care issues.
• Initiate and maintain emergency treatment (RESUS) when required.
• Interview patients and families to gather relevant background information and identify needs.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care decisions.

Required profile

• Registered professional nurse with current South African nursing registration.
• Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary health team.
• Strong understanding of nursing theories and holistic care principles.
• Commitment to act as a patient advocate and uphold the values of care, truth, participation, compassion and dignity.

Required skills

• RESUS (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) competency.
• Advanced nursing care techniques.
• Patient assessment and clinical decision‑making.
• Accurate nursing documentation.
• Emergency treatment initiation.
