Registered Nurse – Psychiatric/Wellness (Eastern Cape)

About the role

Our client, a registered wellness facility, is looking for a qualified, SANC‑registered nurse to lead medication management and nursing services. The role involves overseeing medication administration, maintaining clinical records, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and manage prescribed medication in line with legislation and facility procedures.
• Maintain accurate medication administration records and client medical files.
• Liaise with doctors, psychiatrists, pharmacies and other healthcare professionals.
• Conduct medical intakes, health enquiries and basic nursing assessments within scope of practice.
• Monitor client health concerns and escalate issues appropriately.
• Manage pharmacy‑prepacked medication, prescriptions, stock and storage.
• Supervise an auxiliary nurse and coordinate with qualified carers and staff.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Health, Department of Social Development, SANC and other regulatory bodies.
• Keep medical documentation organized, inspection‑ready, and recommend procedural improvements.

Required profile

• Appropriate nursing qualification with current SANC registration.
• Relevant SANC category permitting medication administration and management.
• Strong record‑keeping and medication‑management abilities.
• Experience in rehabilitation, psychiatric, or mental‑health residential settings is highly advantageous.
