Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse with specialised theatre experience to join a fast‑paced Operating Theatre team. You will provide comprehensive peri‑operative care and support surgical teams in delivering safe, high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver peri‑operative nursing care to patients undergoing surgery.
• Perform scrub duties and assist surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures.
• Prepare and maintain sterile operating equipment and environment.
• Monitor patients throughout the surgical journey and ensure quality clinical outcomes.
• Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

Required profile

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing with a Post‑Basic qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Operating Theatre.
• Thorough knowledge of peri‑operative nursing principles and sterile techniques.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal abilities.
