Registered Nurse – ICU Trained (Tembisa, Gauteng)

About the role

The hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse with ICU training to deliver safe, cost‑effective patient care. The role involves direct and indirect nursing responsibilities for individual patients or groups, ensuring high standards of care in line with hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient care within the scope of practice and assume full responsibility for assigned activities.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and patients regarding care requirements.
• Participate in handover reports at shift start and deliver detailed handovers to the ward sister.
• Promote patients' health, wellbeing and holistic care.
• Audit health records for compliance and manage stock control.
• Maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
• NQF Level 7 qualification and relevant post‑basic diploma.
• Experience in a specialised area, preferably ICU.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (compulsory).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – advantageous.
• Advanced computer literacy.
