Registered Nurse – ICU (Howick, KZN)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse with ICU training to join our team in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves delivering safe, cost‑effective, high‑quality patient care in line with hospital standards and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, assessing, planning, executing and supervising care plans.
• Practice patient care within the Scope of Practice and assume full responsibility for assigned activities.
• Attend handover meetings, communicate effectively with patients and promote their health and wellbeing.
• Audit health records for compliance and ensure proper stock control.
• Maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife (or equivalent NQF 7 qualification).
• Relevant qualification and experience in a specialised area; post‑basic diploma is essential.
• Compulsory BLS certification; PALS certification is advantageous.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Flexibility to work advanced hours and shift patterns.
• Ability to implement and maintain health practice standards and comply with legislation.
