Registered Nurse – ICU (Cooper ICU X2)

About the role

Exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with ICU qualification to join the General ICU at Life Entabeni Hospital in KwaZulu‑Natal. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will help ensure high‑quality nursing care for all patients and support the smooth operation of the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform basic nursing duties as allocated by the Unit Manager, including day and night shift rotations.
• Maintain quality patient care and customer satisfaction in line with Life Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Manage nursing staff across categories according to their scope of practice.
• Foster professional relationships with patients, doctors and multidisciplinary team members.
• Apply health, safety and infection‑control policies to manage unit risks effectively.
• Participate in cost management for stock, staffing and equipment, and identify training needs.
• Ensure accurate and effective record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
• Formal ICU qualification is mandatory.
• Excellent interpersonal, planning, organizing and time‑management abilities.
• Strong decision‑making, resilience and stress tolerance.
• Customer‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.
