Registered Nurse – High Care (Kimberley, Northern Cape)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – High Care will provide safe, cost-effective patient care in a high-dependency setting, ensuring compliance with hospital standards and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in line with the Scope of Practice and assume full responsibility for assigned activities.
• Communicate effectively with doctors regarding patient requirements.
• Contribute to holistic patient care and promote health and wellbeing.
• Attend shift handover and communicate care plans to patients.
• Audit health records to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage and control stock, ensuring proper charging and crediting.
• Maintain positive public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or equivalent.
• NQF Level 7 qualification.
• Post‑Basic ICU / Critical Care qualification.
• Relevant qualification and experience within a specialist area.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts.
• Ability to implement and maintain health practice standards and legislation.
