Registered Nurse / Clinical Technologist – Acute Care

About the role

The Renal Unit at Life Renal Dialysis, West Rand is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse/Clinical Technologist to deliver high‑quality acute care to renal patients. Reporting to the Renal Unit Manager, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide holistic basic and specialised nursing care to renal patients.
• Communicate regularly with patients and families about condition and treatment plans.
• Administer medication in line with ethical and legal frameworks.
• Maintain and monitor renal dialysis equipment and instrumentation daily.
• Support infection control and SHEQ initiatives, completing alerts and incident reports.
• Manage stock, staff hours, and leave according to unit policies.
• Collaborate with doctors, execute prescriptions, and assist multidisciplinary team members.
• Ensure accurate record‑keeping and compliance with internal policies.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Nursing.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Clinical Technology (Renal).
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Technologist.
