Regional Sales Manager – FMCG (Johannesburg)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Regional Sales Manager to lead our sales operations across the five provinces of South Africa. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key accounts and developing a high‑performing field team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional sales strategies covering retail, wholesale, forecourt and independent trade.
• Own revenue targets and monitor KPIs to ensure consistent sales growth.
• Manage and expand relationships with major accounts such as SPAR, Pick n Pay, Shoprite and leading forecourt groups.
• Identify new business opportunities and secure contracts across the region.
• Lead, coach and evaluate regional sales representatives and merchandisers.
• Improve product distribution, assortment, availability and in‑store execution.
• Oversee wholesalers and independent retailers to increase volume and repeat purchases.
• Track competitor activity, pricing trends and market dynamics.
• Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts and performance analyses.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing and Operations to support regional growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in regional sales management or senior key‑account management within FMCG.
• Proven record of measurable sales growth and ability to present results with numbers.
• Experience managing a large, geographically dispersed territory.
• Key‑account experience with SPAR, Pick n Pay and/or Shoprite and forecourt groups.
• Strong commercial understanding of pricing, margins and trading terms.
• Relevant qualification – BCom (Marketing/Sales/Business Management), NDip or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively.
