Regional Sales Manager – FMCG / Food Manufacturing (Gauteng)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established food manufacturing business, is looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead the Gauteng sales operation. The role will drive profitable growth, develop strategic customer partnerships and manage a team of sales representatives to meet commercial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the regional sales team.
• Design and execute commercial sales strategies for Gauteng.
• Drive sales growth across existing and new customer accounts.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with retail, wholesale and independent trade customers.
• Manage strategic key accounts, negotiate pricing, terms and promotional activities.
• Monitor performance, provide coaching and feedback.
• Analyse sales results, profitability and market trends.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets and performance reports.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure effective execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business Management or related field (post‑graduate qualification advantageous).
• Minimum 10 years commercial sales experience in FMCG, consumer goods or food manufacturing.
• At least 5 years leading and developing a sales team.
• Proven track record in business development, sales growth and key‑account management.
• Strong commercial, financial and analytical abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems.
