Regional Planner

About the role

The Regional Planner will work within the Technology Enterprise Services Planning area, delivering ICT and infrastructure designs for a defined region. Reporting to the Planning Manager, the role focuses on fixed‑line solutions, including microwave and fibre‑optic planning, and requires close interaction with senior customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and design access, aggregation and core network infrastructure across the assigned region.
• Conduct transport, IP, GIS processing and data‑analytics activities to support network growth.
• Translate high‑level network strategies into detailed low‑level designs and bill of materials.
• Forecast capacity and traffic, aligning forecasts with enterprise strategy and roadmap.
• Validate equipment locations, configurations and obtain necessary planning approvals.
• Ensure smooth handover of completed designs to Network Operations for cut‑over.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure planning and ICT solution design.
• Engineering degree or National Diploma in a relevant discipline.
• CCNA and CCNP certifications (CECP advantageous).
• Proven experience with fixed‑line, microwave and fibre‑optic planning.
