Regional Financial Controller

About the role

The organization, a leading retailer and wholesaler operating in Gauteng, is seeking a Regional Financial Controller to drive financial controls, compliance and operational efficiency across multiple regional sites.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce robust financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and audit standards.
• Manage emergency payments, buyouts, petty cash submissions and audit regional cash floats.
• Administer insurance claims, fleet card management and oversee goods‑in‑transit processes.
• Lead regional stock control activities, including stocktakes, system configuration and variance investigations.
• Prepare CAPEX documentation and ensure accurate asset recording.
• Oversee financial GRVs, procurement processes and ensure adherence to policies.
• Perform comprehensive financial administration: transaction processing, reconciliations and reporting.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and addressing queries.
• Monitor compliance with financial, tax and governance policies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve finance processes and manage contract administration.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of financial management experience.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience in asset management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, tax legislation and governance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex financial processes and controls.
