About the role

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for staff, clients and visitors, ensuring a professional and welcoming front‑desk experience. This role combines hospitality, administrative support and basic facilities management to keep daily office operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Greet and direct clients, receive and distribute packages, arrange courier collections and deliveries.
  • Manage meeting‑room bookings, ensure rooms are tidy and coordinate refreshment and catering orders.
  • Answer, screen and transfer all incoming calls using the switchboard; assist employees without outbound call access.
  • Maintain stationery and office supplies stock, place weekly and monthly orders for drinks, cleaning products, first‑aid kits and other consumables.
  • Support new‑starter onboarding by completing access forms, ordering branded items and arranging workstation set‑up.
  • Coordinate building maintenance tasks such as air‑conditioner servicing, pest control, plant care, and ad‑hoc repairs; manage recycling collection.
  • Perform general administrative duties including printing, binding, issuing stationery, sending congratulatory emails and arranging gift vouchers or car‑wash services.

Required profile

  • Matric qualification (accounting background advantageous).
  • Office administration course or similar training is a plus.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a similar front‑desk or administrative role.
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence with own transport and availability Monday‑Friday onsite.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience operating a telephone switchboard.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, business writing and telephone etiquette.
  • Good administrative and interpersonal abilities.
