R&D Print & Production Designer

About the role

The R&D Print & Production Designer will act as the technical and creative bridge between product development, graphic design, suppliers and production. You will ensure ideas become manufacturable, visually compelling products that meet cost and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assess product and creative briefs for production feasibility and recommend design adjustments.
• Create and maintain production‑ready artwork, die‑lines, templates and print specifications.
• Develop prototypes, test materials and finishes, and produce production‑quality samples for approval.
• Standardise and document repeatable production methods, SOPs and work instructions.
• Support accurate product costing and evaluate commercial impact of alternative processes.
• Train production teams, troubleshoot technical issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Graphic design qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• 2‑3 years of experience in graphic design with strong print production knowledge.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with creative, product development, suppliers and production teams.

• Knowledge of digital, lithographic, large‑format, sublimation, vinyl, laser cutting and engraving processes

• Costing calculations and SOP writing
