Quantity Surveyor – EPC/PC Projects (Gauteng)

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost control, contract measurement, valuations and commercial administration on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and Procurement and Construction (PC) projects for Eskom infrastructure, including substations, transformers and transmission lines in Gauteng.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage comprehensive cost reports, valuations, financial forecasts and payment assessments while supporting project controls and budgeting.
• Administer variations, process compensation events and compile supporting documentation for contractual claims.
• Measure executed works on‑site and from drawings, rigorously verifying contractor and subcontractor payment applications.
• Collaborate with project management and contracts teams to maintain commercial compliance, manage financial risks and ensure full cost visibility throughout the project life cycle.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent qualification).
• 5 to 10 years of experience on infrastructure projects, specifically substations, transformers or transmission lines.
• Registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) as a PrQS is preferred and required where contractually specified.
• Strong expertise in cost control, payment certification, variations and commercial administration within EPC/PC and Eskom contractual environments.
