Quantity Surveyor – Construction Projects

About the role

RPO Recruitment’s client, a respected building and civil contractor, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Cape Town team on a new construction project.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and project cost reports.
• Monitor project costs and support cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations and payment certificates.
• Price and administer variation orders and contract claims.
• Assist with cash‑flow forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure commercial compliance.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry.
• Valid driver’s licence (essential).
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Preparing BOQs and cost estimates.
• Project cost monitoring and control.
• Valuations and interim payment certification.
• Subcontractor procurement and payment administration.
• Variation order pricing and contract claim management.
• Cash‑flow forecasting and commercial reporting.
