Quantity Surveyor – 1 Year Fixed-Term (Malaysia Rotation)

About the role

Urgently seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a 1‑year fixed‑term placement. The role is based at a remote site in Malaysia, operating on an 8‑week rotation of 6 weeks onsite and 2 weeks off, with an immediate start required.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of construction costs and draft Bills of Quantities.
• Measure building quantities for bill preparation and final accounts.
• Conduct site visits and measurements, and prepare valuations for interim payment certificates.
• Assist with cost management, prepare and conclude final accounts, and ensure compliance with SACQSP procedures.
• Attend in‑house seminars, maintain computer literacy, and work collaboratively with other staff.
• Ensure compliance with the firm’s quality management systems and practice manuals.
• Source new clients and additional work/projects.
• Communicate with clients, providing updates and advice on cost and contractual matters.
• Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors and other team members.
• Ensure all projects meet required standards and regulations.
• Contribute to business development activities and fee proposals.

Required profile

• Valid passport and clear criminal record.
• Minimum 5–7 years of commercial quantity surveying experience.
• Preferably experience in hotel projects.
• Graduates from the University of Bloemfontein or the University of Pretoria are preferred.
