Quality Officer

About the role
The Quality Officer will support McKinnon Chain’s commitment to high‑quality steel chain products by monitoring and improving manufacturing processes across mining, industrial, forestry, cargo lashing, marine and offshore sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct daily quality inspections of raw materials, in‑process components and finished chain products.
- Collect and analyse production data to identify non‑conformities and trends.
- Initiate root‑cause investigations and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate quality records and ensure compliance with internal standards and external certifications.
- Support internal and external audits and communicate findings to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with production teams to drive continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within manufacturing.
- Grade 12 (Matric) and tertiary qualification in Physical Metallurgy.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to generate reports.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and problem‑solving ability.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in an organised, systematic manner.
