QA Engineer – Remote (South Africa)

About the role

This remote QA Engineer position supports a cutting‑edge technology platform. You will own testing and validation of new releases, ensuring high quality before they reach production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive manual testing across applications, APIs, command‑line tools, backend services and user‑facing workflows.
• Execute test scenarios in local, staging and pre‑production environments to uncover defects and performance issues.
• Create detailed bug reports with reproduction steps, logs and screenshots.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand changes, prioritize testing, verify fixes and support production readiness.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for end‑to‑end, smoke and regression testing.
• Contribute to release checklists, documentation and QA best practices.

Required profile

• Previous experience in quality assurance, software testing or release validation.
• Strong manual testing expertise, including test case creation and defect documentation.
• Experience testing technical products such as APIs, backend systems or developer tools.
• Comfort working with command‑line interfaces, logs, scripts and staging environments.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
