About the role

A builder role developing backend Python services for Asuer’s chatbot, ERP and digital fintech products. You’ll work on APIs, backend logic and real‑world applications that serve thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

Build Python services powering Asuer Insure, Connect and the chatbot.
Write automated tests and contribute to the testing culture.
Review peers’ code and share knowledge.
Integrate with third‑party APIs such as payments, mobile networks and KYC providers.
Investigate and fix production issues.
Document built components for team use.

Required profile

2–5 years of experience building production Python systems.
Ability to take a feature from specification to shipping with limited supervision.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and comfortable using the Linux command line.
South African work authorisation.

Required skills

Python 3.10+.
Web framework such as FastAPI, Django or Flask.
PostgreSQL or another relational database.
Git workflow.
Cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
Linux command line.
