Protection Services Supervisor

About the role

The Protection Services Supervisor is responsible for implementing the protection services strategy and safeguarding all mining staff, assets, and infrastructure. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, legal regulations, and company policies while managing security operations across the mine site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and oversee patrolling, surveillance, and access‑control activities to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorised entry.
• Manage and maintain CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and boom‑gate access controls.
• Develop and execute crowd‑management and public‑order tactics during protests or community unrest.
• Monitor incidents, apply proportional use of force, and ensure proper reporting in line with regulations.
• Identify vulnerabilities, enforce security protocols, and conduct induction procedures for personnel and visitors.
• Allocate resources, request assets, and track utilisation to achieve operational objectives.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to align security measures with overall business goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security operations, preferably within a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety, health, and security legislation applicable to mining sites.
• Ability to lead teams, allocate staff, and manage resources efficiently.
• Excellent analytical skills for risk assessment and incident investigation.
