Protection Internship

About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Protection Regional Thematic Unit (PXD RTU). This role offers hands‑on experience in migration protection, working closely with regional and country offices to contribute to IOM’s strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the PXD RTU in providing thematic expertise and guidance on protection programmes.
- Support oversight, quality assurance and technical backstopping for country office operations.
- Contribute to evidence‑based thought leadership and prepare briefing materials for regional UN networks.
- Help coordinate regional initiatives aimed at saving lives and protecting people on the move.
Required profile
- Between 20 and 36 years old with less than two years of relevant work experience.
- Enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s programme or graduated within the last 12 months.
- Strong interest in migration, protection, humanitarian or related fields.
- Ability to work in a multicultural, inter‑governmental environment.
