Project Manager – Water

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead water infrastructure projects from conception through hand‑over. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with engineering standards and municipal regulations, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables; develop detailed plans, schedules and risk assessments.
• Manage the full project lifecycle, coordinating engineers, contractors and site teams.
• Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with design and client requirements.
• Develop and control budgets, track expenditures, manage variations and drive cost efficiency.
• Ensure quality, conduct inspections, audits and implement corrective actions.
• Enforce OHS Act compliance, conduct risk assessments and promote a safety culture.
• Liaise with clients, municipalities, consultants and contractors; provide updates and manage expectations.
• Allocate resources, monitor team performance and support professional development.
• Oversee project close‑out, compile final documentation and secure client sign‑off.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in civil/water infrastructure projects.
• 3–5 years in a project management role, preferably with municipal water pipelines, pump stations or treatment works.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams.
