Project Manager - Power Reliability Business Line

About the role

ABB is hiring a Project Manager for its Power Reliability Business Line in South Africa, reporting to the Operations Manager - BL Excitation (AMEA). The role leads medium-sized projects and works in a hybrid setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the execution of medium-size projects so that all activities follow ABB policy, cybersecurity regulations and standards, contractual agreements, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial targets and schedule commitments.
• Lead the project team, set the execution approach and oversee planning, monitoring and control of internal and external resources.
• Monitor project progress, resource use and project finances.
• Identify, qualify and manage project risks and pursue opportunities.
• Drive formal project acceptance, contract close-out and customer acknowledgment in line with the contract.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
• At least 7 years of project management experience, as Project Manager in the oil & gas, utilities and other industrial markets.
• PMP certification or equivalent from a large multinational company such as ABB.
• Experience with South African NEC contracts with Eskom and local regulations is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Project, SAP and PR+ is an added advantage, or similar enterprise resource and data management systems.
• Collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
