Project Manager – Financial Services

About the role

Momentum Africa Life is seeking a Project Manager to lead medium‑scale, cross‑functional projects. You will coordinate delivery, ensure timelines, budgets and quality standards are met, and integrate outcomes into the company’s value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, scope and sequence medium‑complexity projects in line with operational standards.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, task allocations and dependency tracks.
• Use business analysis techniques to clarify requirements and assess process impacts.
• Identify, monitor and resolve daily operational risks, issues and blockages.
• Coordinate activities with product, operations, IT, finance and other upstream/downstream teams.
• Maintain governance artifacts, track progress and provide status reports to stakeholders and PMO leadership.
• Facilitate project post‑mortems and capture lessons learned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Information Systems, Insurance or related field.
• Recognised Project Management certification (CAPM or PMP) – essential.
• Agile/Scrum certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster) – desirable.
• 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in life insurance or financial services.
• Proven ability to blend basic business analysis with project tracking.
• Track record of coordinating small‑to‑medium cross‑functional projects.

Required skills

• CAPM or PMP certification.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Business analysis techniques (process mapping, requirements gathering).
• Project scheduling and resource planning.
