Project Manager / Contract Manager – Johannesburg

About the role

The Project Manager / Contract Manager will lead service and maintenance projects from initiation to completion, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget compliance and client satisfaction. This role acts as the main liaison between clients, technicians, suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee service and maintenance projects, developing schedules and allocating labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress, implement corrective actions and ensure delivery within budget and contractual terms.
• Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, reviewing specifications, service level agreements and handling quotations, variations and amendments.
• Serve as primary client contact, provide regular updates, resolve issues promptly and identify opportunities for contract growth.
• Coordinate daily activities between service teams, suppliers and customers, ensuring required resources are available.
• Track project costs, prepare budgets and forecasts, approve expenses and support invoicing and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments and promote a strong safety culture.
• Prepare status reports, maintain project documentation and monitor key performance indicators.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning and delivering service or maintenance projects.
• Strong background in contract administration and compliance.
• Excellent client‑facing skills with ability to manage relationships and resolve issues.
• Solid financial acumen for budgeting, cost control and invoicing.
• Knowledge of health, safety and industry regulations.
