Project Manager – Construction Industry

About the role

Our client, a well‑established medium‑sized building contractor based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead building projects from start to finish. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise construction activities on site.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and cost control measures.
• Oversee subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contracts and quality expectations.
• Handle variations, claims and contract administration.
• Maintain health and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in building construction with proven project management expertise.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodology, programme management and subcontractor coordination.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with project scheduling software.
