Project Manager (Concentrator) – 12-Month Contract

About the role

Our client, a leading mining house, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major platinum concentrator plant in Sub‑Saharan Africa. The role covers the full project lifecycle from detailed engineering through construction, commissioning and handover to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive safe, on‑time and within‑budget execution of the concentrator plant.
• Coordinate with the Project Office, engineering consultants, construction managers, commissioning team and operations personnel.
• Manage procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness activities on‑site and from Johannesburg.
• Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure effective EPCM delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Chemical or Mining Engineering.
• Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2) – advantageous.
• Professional registration with ECSA or equivalent – highly advantageous.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
• Minimum 15 years of mining project experience, including at least 5 years in project management.

What we offer

• Competitive remuneration of R200 000 – R220 000 per month.
• 12‑month contract based in Johannesburg with frequent travel to the project site.
