Project Coordinator – Engineering Projects

About the role

Our client, a specialist engineering consultancy serving the global mining and resource sector, is seeking a highly organised Project Coordinator to support engineering projects in Parow East, Cape Town. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Compile, maintain and track project schedules, timelines and milestones.
• Assist Project Managers with planning, coordination and risk identification.
• Monitor progress, coordinate communication between internal teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, budgets, reports, presentations and timesheets.
• Support invoicing and financial queries related to projects.
• Organise project meetings, set agendas, record minutes and liaise with clients.
• Maintain accurate filing systems and project records.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and handle ad‑hoc administrative duties.

Required profile

• 1–3 years experience in a Project Coordinator or Project Administration role.
• Relevant qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field (advantageous).
• Exposure to technical or engineering environments, preferably within mining, process engineering or resource sectors.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Project (or training).
• Basic knowledge of CAD software.
