Project Architect – Revit Specialist (Cape Town)

About the role

An established architectural practice in Cape Town is seeking a senior Project Architect with strong Revit expertise to lead large, complex projects from design through construction close‑out. The role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, acting as JBCC Principal Agent, and ensuring high‑quality delivery across PROCSA Stages 3–6.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex architectural projects through PROCSA Stages 3–6.
• Act as JBCC Principal Agent, administering contracts and overseeing construction.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants (structural, civil, MEP, fire, specialist).
• Produce and supervise high‑quality technical and construction documentation.
• Manage project programmes, design development, contract administration and site delivery.
• Handle RFIs, contractor submissions, shop drawings, variations and contract instructions.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure construction quality.
• Mentor junior architects, technologists and other professionals.
• Support business development, proposals and client relationship management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture and registration with SACAP as a Professional Architect.
• Minimum 10 years post‑registration experience delivering large, complex projects.
• Proven experience acting as a JBCC Principal Agent and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client, stakeholder and commercial management abilities.
• Professional, accountable, detail‑oriented and solutions‑driven attitude.

Required skills

• Advanced Autodesk Revit (model management, documentation, scheduling, multidisciplinary coordination).
• Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360.
• Experience with SketchUp and Autodesk Forma.
• Competence in Adobe Creative Suite and visualisation tools.
• Strong technical design, detailing and BIM coordination capabilities.
