Professional Structural Engineer

About the role

Citra is an innovative, fast‑growing company in Cape Town that designs and builds premium, affordable homes using cutting‑edge technology. The company seeks a Professional Structural Engineer to lead its engineering team, oversee structural design, and integrate Citra’s proprietary building technologies into projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle, including scope definition, scheduling, resource allocation, budget tracking and risk management.
• Lead a Structural Engineering Team through concept, analysis and detailed design phases.
• Perform structural analyses on conventional and Citra‑specific buildings and structures.
• Develop conceptual and detailed structural designs incorporating Citra Building Technologies.
• Prepare and submit rational design reports where required.
• Collaborate with international engineering firms on projects that use Citra technologies.
• Investigate and obtain certification for non‑standard materials, elements or systems as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience as a structural engineer (eight years preferred).
• Professional registration with ECSA.
• Strong project and engineering management communication skills.
• Experience with reinforced concrete and masonry design according to Eurocode, SANS and other international norms.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Modelling (FEM) and attention to detail.
