Professional Nurse

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is for a Professional Nurse based in Cape Town. You will deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing care, manage patient treatment plans, and support patient education throughout their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and perform clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document care in electronic health systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Adhere to clinical protocols, infection‑prevention standards, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to efficient ward operations.

Required profile

• Relevant nursing qualification (Diploma or Degree) and current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Demonstrated competence in patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of healthcare legislation, clinical protocols, and infection‑control practices.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
