Professional Mechanical Engineer – Production Level (Infrastructure Projects)

About the role

We are seeking a Professional Mechanical Engineer at production level to deliver expert mechanical engineering services for the Directorate Programme/Project Infrastructure Delivery – General, within the Chief Directorate of General Infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality mechanical solutions that support the timely completion of major infrastructure initiatives across the Western Cape.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise for infrastructure programmes and projects.
• Develop and review design specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are met.
• Conduct site inspections and oversee implementation of mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer with production‑level experience.
• Demonstrated competence in infrastructure or construction projects.
• Ability to work within a government department and adhere to public sector processes.
