Professional Engineer or Technologist

About the role

The Professional Engineer or Technologist will lead project management, pavement design, and geometric road design within the Construction & Pavements division. Reporting to the Section Manager, the role involves delivering multidisciplinary road projects and supporting senior engineers and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads to produce accurate design deliverables.
• Organise project information and communicate design intent through CAD drawings.
• Understand design processes and translate them into software‑based outputs.
• Take ownership of work, ensuring timely and cost‑effective completion.
• Train technicians and junior staff on relevant software tools.
• Supervise and review the work of team members to maintain quality.
• Draft technical reports and present technical findings.
• Assist in bid preparation and develop commercial awareness.
• Inspect constructed works for compliance with design specifications.
• Manage projects from scope definition through delivery, coordinating with all stakeholders.

Required profile

• BSc or BTech degree from an accredited university or college.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech).
• Clear understanding of local business technologies and market context.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with Bentley Open Roads.
• Strong CAD drawing and modelling capabilities.
