Production Supervisor – 42.5 hrs/week

About the role

An opportunity is available for a Production Supervisor to lead a multi‑skilled garment production line at Prestige Clothing in Durban. The role involves overseeing line set‑up, balancing staff, and ensuring targets and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Identify training needs to develop a multi‑skilled production line.
• Attend pre‑production meetings before the on‑line date.
• Execute line changeovers in the shortest possible time.
• Set up the line according to the line‑balancing sheet and perform line balancing.
• Achieve hourly production targets and follow the Production Plan.
• Report equipment faults immediately to minimise downtime.
• Ensure bundle sheet information matches actual cutwork delivered.
• Maintain work‑in‑process levels and keep minimum garments at work stations.
• Record downtime accurately on the MIS and conduct capacity checks.
• Discipline employees for misconduct or poor performance and return completed trims to the trim store.

Required profile

• Grade 10 qualification.
• At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in the clothing industry.
• Clear criminal record.
• Knowledge of garment construction.
• Good references that can be contacted.
• Desirable: proficiency with Microsoft Office.
