Product Category Manager – HP

About the role

This senior‑level position sits within the HP Business Unit and is responsible for managing selected HP BPS, CPS and HPS product categories. The role combines tactical product management with operational leadership, executing the strategy and priorities set by the Business Unit Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the consolidated strategy for HP HPS and CPS categories, translating business objectives into roadmaps, annual plans and quarterly priorities.
• Manage overall category performance including forecasting, pricing, stock planning and SKU lifecycle.
• Develop pricing models, monitor profitability, manage rebates and ensure budget adherence.
• Partner with Sales Account Managers to enable HP sales, provide product training and shape go‑to‑market campaigns.
• Lead end‑to‑end HP operational functions, coordinating with Product, Sales, Finance, Logistics and Supply Chain teams.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships, support senior‑level negotiations and ensure alignment with brand strategy.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with at least 5 years of experience in product, commercial or portfolio management within IT distribution or a related industry.
• Demonstrated ability to execute strategic initiatives and lead operational processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer orientation.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (advanced skills in the MS Office suite).
• Proficiency with the full MS Office suite.
• Relevant vendor certifications for HP products.
