Procurement Manager – Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our client’s head office in Cape Town. The role will shape and execute the procurement strategy, driving innovative sourcing, supplier partnerships and cost optimisation in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Research international markets to identify new and innovative products and private‑label opportunities.
• Expand product range to improve quality, profitability and competitiveness.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers, conducting performance reviews and resolving disputes.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, freight terms, exclusivity agreements and contracts to achieve measurable savings and improve gross margins.
• Analyse landed costs, mitigate exchange‑rate impacts and ensure compliance with NRCS, SABS, SARS and customs regulations.
• Plan purchasing activities with department buyers, manage import purchasing, freight, customs compliance and landed costing.
• Process purchase orders, maintain supplier records, monitor stock levels and coordinate supplier payments and reconciliations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management or a related field.
• Strong negotiation track record delivering cost savings and favourable agreements.
• In‑depth knowledge of international sourcing, import processes and customs compliance.
• Excellent analytical ability to assess landed costs and gross margins.
• Strong relationship management skills with suppliers and ability to work in a results‑driven environment.
