Procurement Manager

About the role

Our manufacturing client in Boksburg, Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing and purchasing function for a fast‑moving tools, equipment and spare‑parts operation. The role combines strategic supplier management with hands‑on import and export logistics to ensure cost‑effective, quality‑assured supply for production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full procurement cycle – sourcing, purchasing, contracting and supplier performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with approved procurement procedures, financial controls and budgets.
• Act as the primary liaison between the company and all suppliers of goods, services and capital items.
• Prepare, issue and adjudicate RFQs and RFPs for local and international suppliers.
• Manage import and export logistics, customs clearance (SARS), foreign‑exchange exposure and cross‑border compliance, including documentation and origin certificates.
• Maintain the integrity of the ERP accounting system (Evolution) regarding pricing, costing and supplier terms.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Procurement Manager in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or related field.
• Proven experience with imports and exports, including customs and foreign‑exchange management.
• Hands‑on experience with SAGE and a procurement CRM/ERP system (e.g., Evolution).
