Procurement Manager – Global Sourcing (Cape Town)

About the role

Our client seeks a dynamic Procurement Manager to lead global sourcing strategy, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Based in Cape Town, the role will drive product innovation, supplier partnerships and cost optimisation across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global sourcing and innovation by researching international markets, identifying new products and supporting private‑label launches.
• Drive commercial negotiation and cost optimisation, negotiating pricing, payment terms, freight contracts, rebates and exclusivity agreements while analysing landed costs.
• Manage supplier partnerships, building strong relationships, conducting performance reviews, resolving disputes and ensuring quality and service standards.
• Oversee import procurement and supply‑chain alignment with department buyers, managing import schedules, mitigating exchange‑rate risks and ensuring continuity of supply.
• Ensure operational compliance and governance by supervising import documentation, monitoring ETAs and guaranteeing adherence to customs and regulatory bodies (NRCS, SABS, SARS).

Required profile

• Proven experience in international product sourcing, import buying and end‑to‑end global supply‑chain management.
• Strong commercial negotiation background with contracts, landed‑cost and rebate structures.
• In‑depth knowledge of South African import regulations and compliance (SARS, SABS, NRCS).
• Financial and analytical capability for margin analysis, landed‑cost calculations and stock‑forecast alignment.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
