Process Technician

About the role

The company is a high‑volume South African manufacturer of tissue and everyday hygiene products. The Process Technician will work on the production floor to monitor and optimise processes, maintain product quality and support plant efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily production processes to meet targets and quality standards.
• Identify and implement process optimisation opportunities.
• Support routine maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
• Lead and train operators in preventive and autonomous maintenance activities.
• Oversee changeovers, applying Single‑Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) techniques to reduce downtime.
• Facilitate root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving sessions during daily operations meetings.
• Develop, review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documentation.
• Promote a safe, environmentally responsible working environment.

Required profile

• Experience working in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to collaborate with production supervisors, maintenance teams and technical managers.
• Strong focus on continuous improvement and quality control.

Required skills

• SMED (Single‑Minute Exchange of Die) methodology.
• Root‑cause analysis techniques.
• SOP development and documentation.
• Basic preventive and autonomous maintenance practices.
