Process Engineer – Technical Sales & Tender Specialist

About the role

Our client is a South African process equipment sales and supply company delivering customized solutions for the mining and mineral processing sectors. The role bridges technical process design with client‑facing business development, evaluating enquiries, creating designs, and preparing commercial tenders.

Key responsibilities

• Compile detailed commercial bids and technical proposals that respond to client RFQs.
• Maintain continuous communication with mining project managers and procurement teams to build brand trust.
• Assess client enquiries for technical viability and raw‑material processing requirements.
• Create process flow diagrams (PDF) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) from lab tests to full‑plant scale.
• Execute calculations to select and size processing equipment.
• Negotiate terms, handle design changes, and clarify specifications post‑submission.
• Package drawings, data sheets, and client criteria for handover to internal project and mechanical teams.

Required profile

• B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process design, proposals engineering, or technical sales within the mining industry.
• Strong understanding of flow sheets, instrumentation diagrams, and metallurgical processes.
• Proven problem‑solving ability and capacity to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
• Advanced computer literacy (MS Office) and a valid unendorsed driver’s licence with own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel to mine sites for commissioning.
