Process Engineer

About the role

Atlantis Foundries is seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical and engineering expertise in the development, optimisation and governance of its foundry manufacturing processes. The role focuses on achieving world‑class standards in safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental performance while driving continuous improvement and capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve production processes to meet quality, cost and output targets.
• Evaluate existing processes, establish best practices and enhance OEE and overall efficiency.
• Troubleshoot critical equipment breakdowns, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Manage raw‑material inputs, inventory and Bill of Materials, and monitor production trends to address deviations.
• Lead quality initiatives, drive problem‑solving activities and initiate cost‑saving projects.
• Introduce, review and maintain PPAP documentation, control plans, FMEA, SWI and JES.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet production, safety and regulatory targets.
• Ensure compliance with TS 16949, OHS Act, ISO 14000 and company policies.

Required profile

• NQF 7 / B Eng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment.
• Strong knowledge of foundry production processes and statistical process control.
• Project‑management experience and familiarity with data‑mining applications.
• Understanding of APQP, PPAP, TS 16949, FMEA and related process documentation.
• Proficiency in problem‑solving methodologies and continuous‑improvement techniques.
