Principal Account Manager – Retail (Germany)

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Principal Account Manager to lead its Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) business in Germany. You will partner with large e‑commerce and retail customers, helping them design and execute cloud‑based digital transformation strategies that drive growth and new business models.

Key responsibilities

• Engage C‑level executives, line‑of‑business leaders, IT architects and developers at major retail/CPG accounts.
• Understand each customer’s strategic initiatives and translate them into AWS‑centric solutions.
• Lead technical and business discussions, crafting compelling value propositions for AWS services.
• Develop and execute account strategies that align with customers’ long‑term goals.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams—including solution architects, professional services, partners, and ISVs—to deliver end‑to‑end outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with C‑level stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (or equivalent experience).
• Background in technology‑focused account management or field sales.
• Fluent in English and German, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, synthesis and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated passion for invention, simplification and cross‑functional collaboration.
