Prescription Alert Supervisor – Legal Risk Management

About the role

Our client in Cape Town is seeking a Prescription Alert Supervisor to lead the operation of a risk‑management system that monitors time‑barred legal matters. The role ensures that firms are correctly registered, that matters are captured and updated accurately, and that prescription risks are mitigated through diligent oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operation of the Prescription Alert System, ensuring all matters are recorded and tracked to finalisation.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Legal Practice Council and legal practitioners, to maintain system integrity.
• Monitor system alerts, reminders and prescription‑related risks, escalating potential exposures as needed.
• Maintain accuracy, completeness and integrity of information submitted by registered firms.
• Manage a team of three staff members, allocating work, monitoring performance and providing mentorship.
• Resolve system queries and issues promptly to minimise disruption.

Required profile

• LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ legal experience, preferably in litigation, professional indemnity or legal risk environments.
• Proven experience supervising staff or leading a small team.
• Strong communication, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Understanding of prescription law and legal risk management.
• Experience with case management or diary management systems.

• Competitive salary range R696,134 – R750,000 CTC per annum.
