Pre-Operative / PACU Registered Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in our Pre‑Operative Assessment and Testing outpatient setting. The role involves preparing patients for surgery, delivering education, and collaborating with anesthesia and physicians. This full‑time position works a 4‑day, 10‑hour shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the pre‑operative and PACU environment.
• Gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, and ensure all required pre‑operative tests are completed.
• Interpret and evaluate lab work, EKGs, and surgical clearances according to anesthesia guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to individual surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with ancillary services, including anesthesia teams and physicians, to optimize patient preparation.
• Maintain accurate charting and manage telephone communications efficiently.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a pre‑operative setting.
